Why final-distance?
Some people that visit F-D.org probably know where the name of this domain comes from, but for those of you that don't, then you're in the right place!
Final Distance is the name of a song sang by the ever so wonderful Japanese pop artist Utada Hikaru. The song originated from her song titled 'Distance',
which originally appeared on her album of the same name.
The song was changed completely, into 'Final Distance', after Hikki heard of a school rampage that ended in the death of a girl, Yamashita Reina, who had
previously won an essay competiton, writing about how she wanted to become a singer like Hikki. The Japanese Ministry of Education decided to include the
song in it's music textbooks, and after the proposal passed with 319 points, the song was added. The reason it was chosen is because it is closely
familiar with high school students.
The reason I chose the song to be my domain name? Final Distance has always been one of my favorite songs, in general, and even more so after I heard of how
the song came to be. It's a very melodic song; slow, yet easy to listen to. I could just sit and listen to it for hours on end, and I have.
It also symbolizes where I am in life, I'd like to think. This is my final distance, and I don't have to travel anymore to find what I want, because it's
right in front of me.
